FACIAL IMAGE AND FINGERPRINTS ENROLMENT FOR ISSUING THE ELECTRONIC PASSPORT
Upon filing the application the applicant’s fingerprints and facial image are enroled
Fingerprints: flat fingerprints of the index of both hands are taken.
In case the quality of fingerprints is inadequate and/or index fingers are injured, good quality plain impressions of middle fingers, ring fingers or thumbs of the applicants shall be recorded.
Where the fingerprints have low quality or the fingerprinting is temporary impossible, the applicant may be issued a temporary ordinary passport, under the law.
When the facial image is taken, the applicant must not have his/her head covered, eyes closed or wear glasses and his/her face expression must be ordinary.
By way of exception, for religious reasons, the facial image can be taken with covered head, provided that the holder’s face starting with the base of the chin and up to the forehead is clearly visible with no shades.
